Christy heard about the art cow parade that was coming to Austin this month and wanted to check it out. I wasn’t so keen on the idea at first because I’ve had a scary run in with a cow or two. Cows aren’t scary, you say?
Well, when you have a herd of cows marching toward you making loud we-mean-business moo sounds and you are armed with nothing but a basketful of blackberries….yeah, cows can be scary.
So, the cow parade is basically a display of around 100 sculptured cows, individually designed by artists (some local). They are placed all around downtown (and there’s even a cool google map of where to find them) and so one night a couple weeks ago we trekked out to see them.
I brought my trusty camera (Sony NEX-5) along and since our sight-seeing happened to be around sunset it made for quite a neat photo walk. So below, I bring you the cows (the immobile non-scary ones).

Hello! My name is Chris and I'm an engineer and a photographer / contributor for Apartment Therapy. In high school my artistic side took a back seat as I pursued a career in math and science. Blogging, however, gives me the chance to bring that creative side front and center again. I'm a native Texan, living in Austin, and love all the things you'll find in a modern metropolis - technology, design, food, and the arts. I hope those interests come together here in pieces you enjoy reading. Thanks for stopping by.
