As a photographer for Apartment Therapy I’m always on the lookout to how I can improve my photography. I’ve seen a lot of shots with interesting ‘bokeh’ effects that shape light into shapes around the subject that lend to the overall narrative of the image.

After reading a bit about how these effects are achieved, I looked for a way to make a filter for myself and my trusty Sony NEX-5.

The complete how-to and write up can be found here on Apartment Therapy. I haven’t had a chance to go out and play with the filter as much as I’d like, but I’m excited to be able to have these fun tools on my utility belt.
